Swimming is a big part of our Queensland lifestyle.
For this reason, it is important that all children maintain a sufficient level of water safety and swimming ability that enables them to remain safe in the water.
Swimming is part of Education Qld's Health and Physical Education curriculum and ADSS provide swimming lessons for students from grade 1 to grade 6. All students are encouraged to participate in swimming lessons.
Grades 2 & 3 attend swimming in the first term of the school year with grades 1, 4, 5 & 6 attending in the last term of the school year. A swimming carnival for year 4 to 6 completes the lessons.
As we promote a sun safe school environment, all students must wear a swim shirt and sunscreen to swimming lessons.
