Safety - Respect - Friendliness - Learning
Our school community has identified being safe, respectful, friendly learners as our whole of school expectations. These expectations apply to all members of the community. Our school expectations have been agreed upon and endorsed by all staff and our school P&C. They are aligned with the values, principles and expected standards outlined in Education Queensland’s Code of School Behaviour.
Young learners do not come to school with a full understanding of what it means to be safe, respectful, friendly learners. Teachers at ADSS explicitly teach students how to apply the school expectations in specific circumstances and FLASH our school mascot helps to teach and promote our high standards of responsible behaviour. The name FLASH stands for

Learning Assets
The Learning Assets (above) are our school way of teaching the Australian Curriculums General (learning) Capabilities and encompass the skill sets required to be a powerful learner. Providing opportunities for students to grow their Learning Assets is an important part of all teaching episodes. By growing these assets learners develop skills that make their learning more sucessful today and skills that will assist them to be lifelong learners.
Amberley District State School Jets Reward Program
The Jets Reward Program acknowledges positive behaviours in our school. Jets tokens are given to students to reward and motivate positive and appropriate behaviour.
- What are Jets? Jets are a stamp given to students who are observed to be demonstrating the focus expectation of the week - we are safe, we are respectful, we are friendly, we are learners.
- What do Students need to do? Demonstrate positive behaviours and be rewarded with a Jets stamp. Stamps are then transferred by the class teacher onto a Jets Log Sheet. Earn enough Jets and claim a reward.
- How to claim a reward? Students go to the Jets Shop located at the side of the tuckshop, hand in their log book and select a prize. The Jets Shop is open every 2nd break on Tuckshop days.
